[x] Pre-production Bathroom Humor
Every project goes through a pre-production phase where things are mocked up quickly and concepts are generated to get a general idea across. When ChefVille was in its infancy two years ago (then under the assumption that it would be named CafeWorld 2 after its predecessor), I had mocked up one of the screens for the FTUE (First-Time User Experience) where a User would select his avatar's gender. I thought I was being...discreetly... and humorously inappropriate. But it really didn't take that long (not that I was hoping for it to slide by) for many to see what I had hidden. I elicited a good amount of laughs, but in the end, I had to change certain things to make the mockup presentable to the Pincus man.
Can you spot my inappropriateness? LOL. Oh, office fun.

[x] Drowning in My Imagination
I really, really, really should get back in the habit of doodling and posting on this a lot more. I have neglected this far too long and it's a shame that I use work as an excuse. Anywhoo... this is an update to one of the several unfinished projects I had collecting dust. Except this piece originally started out a lot larger than what it was eventually edited down to be. I decided to keep the one panel instead of all three and cropped it to focus more on the figure drowning in his imagination, plunging deeper into his stream of consciousness. The drawing was all done in pencil and then painted upon with acrylic and watercolor with some cropping and touchups done in digital...in short, it's a 'mixed media' piece.
Hi. How y'all doin?

[x] Steampunk'd Alfonse Mucha goes Under the Sea... - Update

Unsatisfied with how dark my previous progress shot was going, I decided to completely redo the color palette... and this is the direction it's going in now. A couple peer feedbacks have been that there's nothing drawing the eye all the way down the length of the piece; that the gears at the top keep the eye fixed when, really, the flow of the jellyfish is supposed to lead the eye through the piece. Richmond had suggested I incorporate the pendulum you find in grandfather clocks to help bring the eye down while the straight lines of the pendulum will add a nice visual contrast to the flow of the jellyfish. Progress shot to come...

[x] Drowning in My Imagination

I started another illustration project whilst still working on the Steampunk'd Mucha-esque triptych. The concept for this is, well, as the title states... drowning in my imagination. I've been feeling a surge of creative energy lately and I can't seem to sketch/doodle out my ideas fast enough. Being overwhelmed with ideas, I came up with this illustration of a figure falling/sinking and essentially drowning in his own stream of imaginative consciousness...
Whether I will bring this to finish digitally, traditionally, or a combination of the two, I have not yet decided.
